Where Did Jack and Jenny Come From?

Roughly between 1996 and 2002 my father – Anthony G Bollback – wrote six books for young children under the banner of the Jack and Jenny Mysteries. During those years I assisted him with the technical side of web publishing and advertising. The success of his books has always been a source of pride for the family. The books centered around twins, Jack and Jenny and mysteries they solved as they tagged along on their father’s business trips – mostly to Hong Kong.

My parents served in Hong Kong (and other parts of Asia) for over twenty years sharing the Good News of Jesus. This familiarity with Hong Kong and Chinese culture made a natural backdrop for his books. The first of his books was entitled, ‘Smugglers in Hong Kong.’

In 2019 as I traveled through Hong Kong on a business trip, something clicked in my mind. I was enjoying walking the streets I had walked as a young boy when a thought struck home. ‘Its been twenty five years since Dad wrote his book. Perhaps I should update the story.’ And the rest, as they say, is history.

In my Jack and Jenny Adventures 2.0 I introduce young readers to the children of the original twins, thus bringing the stories up to date for today’s readers.
